Manufacturer range estimates can be confusing. You might see a bike rated for "60 miles," but is that going downhill with a tailwind? Real-world range depends heavily on three factors: rider weight, terrain, and throttle usage. A 6000W bike ridden at full throttle in deep sand will drain a battery much faster than cruising on flat pavement at 20mph. This is why battery capacity—measured in Amp Hours (Ah)—is the most important spec to check.
A standard e-bike might come with a 15Ah or 20Ah battery, which is fine for commuting. However, for off-road performance, you want to look for the "Gold Standard" of 30Ah to 40Ah, found in bikes like the HappyRun G300 Pro. A 40Ah battery effectively doubles the fuel tank of a standard bike, allowing you to ride aggressively on the trails for 2-3 hours without range anxiety. Always buy more battery than you think you need; you’ll never regret having extra juice to get home.
