The Rattan Sequoia is the brand’s long-range, torque-sensor fat-tire platform for riders who want a more natural pedal feel without giving up serious motor output. It combines a 750W sustained / 1500W peak rear hub motor, 80 Nm of torque, a 960Wh Samsung-cell battery and 26 x 4 in. tires in a step-through frame built for mixed terrain.

Why the Sequoia stands out

  • Torque sensor: motor assistance responds to how hard you pedal instead of only detecting crank rotation, producing smoother and more intuitive power delivery.
  • 960Wh battery: the 48V 20Ah Samsung-cell pack is substantially larger than the batteries found on many mainstream commuter e-bikes.
  • 750W sustained / 1500W peak power: paired with up to 80 Nm of torque for hills, loose surfaces and heavier payloads.
  • 26 x 4 in. Kenda fat tires: larger-diameter tires improve rollover and traction on gravel, dirt, sand and uneven surfaces.
  • Hydraulic braking and suspension: 180 mm front/rear hydraulic discs plus an adjustable lockout suspension fork.
  • 450 lb payload rating: a reinforced utility-oriented frame for riders and gear.

Best for

Choose the Sequoia if your priority is all-terrain versatility with a natural-feeling torque sensor. It is a particularly strong candidate for hunting access, camping, gravel routes, trail-to-road riding, heavier riders and long recreational trips where a conventional cadence-sensor fat bike can feel too abrupt.

Geometry and fit

Manufacturer geometry lists a 47.2 in. wheelbase, 77.2 in. overall length, 33.5–39.4 in. seat-height range, 19.7 in. reach, 45.7 in. handlebar height and 17.7 in. standover height. The step-through architecture lowers the effective entry point compared with a conventional high-step mountain frame.

What the torque sensor changes

A cadence sensor mainly knows whether the pedals are turning. The Sequoia’s torque sensor also measures rider input, so assistance can rise as you push harder and back off when you pedal lightly. For buyers comparing high-powered fat-tire bikes, this is one of the most meaningful reasons to move up to the Sequoia: it makes low-speed maneuvering, climbing and normal pedaling feel less “on/off.”

Range & speed notice: actual range and speed vary with rider weight, terrain, tire pressure, weather, assist setting and riding style. Rattan publishes different extended-range figures for optional dual-battery configurations; Watt Wheelz therefore lists the verified single-battery figure and describes the second battery only as an extender rather than promising a fixed dual-battery mileage.
